cheap beach holidays to MajorcaMajorca, one of the Balearic Islands has much to offer all types of travellers from families and couples to groups of young adults. This is because this beautiful island is so diverse and the choice of resorts range from lively party resorts like Magalluf and Palma Nova to relaxed and laid back resorts such as Cala Bona and Puerto Pollensa.

Majorca is the number one selling destination for many travel companies because of the lovely beaches and clear waters just a few hours flight from the UK. Many choose to return year after year!

Majorca continues to be a firm favourite with holidaymakers and has a host of varied resorts to choose from. If you are travelling with family then you might like to look at holidays in Puerto Pollensa. As well as fantastic beaches Puerto Pollensa has much to offer by way of family entertainment including karaoke bars, cabaret entertainment as well as some quieter places to enjoy a relaxing drink.

Alcudia is similar in many ways in that it offers varied family friendly entertainment and the beaches are wide and sandy. Both Alcudia and Puerto Pollensa have a good selection of hotels which are geared towards the needs of families.

For those looking for a more lively Majorca holiday then the famous Magalluf and Palma Nova are the places to go. With plenty of hotels and self catering apartments in this area you can choose to be in the heart of the nightlife or just close enough to have easy access to the nightlife and peace and quiet when you choose. There are bars and clubs aplenty on the Magalluf strip which also runs to the edge of Palma Nova. There are also some more family friendly bars in the surrounding areas. And as this is Majorca you also get the benefit of lovely beaches as well lively nightlife.

For beach lovers then the beautiful Santa Ponsa bay is recommended. This is also a great place to go for water sports. There are actually around 70 beaches on the island of Majorca and on the larger beaches there tends to be a good range of activities and water sports. Of course, you could prefer to just lie back and enjoy the sunshine. The climate in Majorca is very favourable all year round with long warm days in the summer and many hours of sunshine.

If you like to get out and about and explore then car hire is a good option. You will be able to drive out away from the tourist areas and experience a different side of this diverse island. Small sandy bays and rocky coves are just some of the delights you can expect to find.

Other areas of Majorca such as Cala Bona and C'an Picafort are quieter and more suited to families. The beaches throughout Majorca are golden and the water very warm and clear during the summer months. April to October tends to be the best time of year to visit for the sunshine.

The capital city of Majorca is Palma where you will be spoiled with world class shopping in the historic old town. There is also a stunning marina, perfect for enjoying a relaxing drink and watching the world go by. Throughout Majorca there are plenty of opportunities for day trips and site seeing including medieval castles and cathedrals to visit.

Golfers head to Majorca all year round due to the mild climate and outstanding golf courses. There are nineteen golf courses in total most of which are 18 hole courses. For family golf head to the Golf Fantasia Theme Park in Palma Nova which has three 18 hole mini golf courses.

If you are looking for more from your holiday than a sun tan and you like to get out and about there are some fabulous excursions. Some of the best include the Pirates Adventure which is full of gymnasts, acrobats and dance routines and was voted the best experience of 2006! This night out also includes a Buccaneer's feast and drinks.

The Western waterpark is also recommended for a great family day out. This is a themed water park with slides, pool and shows you can visit throughout the day. But our favourite excursion is the Hidden Treasures which allows you to see the real Majorca, hidden in the Tramuntana Mountains. You will see breathtaking scenery and mountain ranges and get to travel through lovely lemon groves on a wooden train and sail around the port of Soller.

Cheap flights to Majorca run daily from the UK so there has never been a better time to book a Majorca Deal. You can book your flights online at the same time as choosing your hotel making the process more convenient. Majorca offers a huge selection of good quality hotels including budget friendly hotels, self catering apartments and all inclusive Majorca hotels which are a good option for families. Some of our favourite all inclusive hotels in Majorca include the 3* Hotel Piscis in Alcudia and the 3* Gran Playa Hotel in Sa Coma. Both of these hotels are just 200 metres from the beach. The 4* Ola Maioris Hotel in Cobo Blanco is also a good option.
