Cheap Holidays to Silves

Silves is a quiet market town which is steeped in history and a great choice for those who like to combine relaxation with site seeing.

A holiday to Silves is rather like taking a step back in time. This is a quiet market town which is packed with historical sites and buildings.  If you like to really absorb your self in the culture and history of your holiday destination then this is the place. You can take in the Moors underground water reservoirs, the cathedral and the Roman Bridge, Ponte Romana. There is also the Algarve's largest castle to visit with 11 towers and grounds of about 1200 metres squared to explore.

The countryside in the area is beautiful and if you hire a car you can really get out and enjoy the scenery. There are plenty of hotels and apartments to choose from. Most have large pool complexes where you can spend leisurely days relaxing. You will find several beaches 15 to 20km away offering golden sands and a range of water sports.
