Turkey boasts a perfect Mediterranean climate with low humidity. Summer runs from May to October and temperatures can soar to over 30 degrees in July and August. Beach lovers will be in their element with miles and miles of breathtaking sandy coastline and clear blue waters. Gumbet is a popular beach resort which has a sand and shingle beach which curves around the bay. Other popular resorts include Bodrum, Marmaris and Antalya.

The scenery on the Bodrum Peninsula is stunning and well worth a visit. But Turkey it not just famous for it's beaches. The nightlife there is also a good reason to visit. You will find the nightlife lively and varied with many bars, clubs and restaurants open late into the evening.

If excursions are more your thing you will be spoilt for choice. Turkey has a rich history and there are many sights to see and places to visit which will increase your knowledge about this beautiful country. St Peters Castle in Bodrum is well worth a visit as is the Tomb of Sariana in Maramaris. Choose from organsied trips or take off for the day on your own and head inland. With it's mix of sun, beaches and history, Turkey has something for everyone. All this and only 4 and a half hours from the UK!
